  • Writing An Integration For Home Assistant

    In an earlier post, I mentioned that I wished there was a bass and treble adjustment in the CamillaDSP integration for home assistant. There was another problem I wished it could have solved. You see, for the integration to work, both CamillaDSP and CamillaDSP GUI servers need to be running. I did not want the CamillaDSP GUI server to be running all the time just to be able to change the configs. The CamillaDSP server itself is capable of switching configs. Just that the home assistant integration did not use those APIs.

  • CamillaDSP and Home Assistant

    If you read my earlier post on CamillaDSP you know that I used REW to get a flat frequency response from my speaker setup at my seating position. When listening to music, I only have the front speaker and subwoofer turned on. The center and rear speakers are off. So all my calibration is based on those 3 speakers. However when watching movies, I prefer to have more thump in the low frequency region and more clarity in the dialogues.

  • CamillaDSP in CoreELEC

    I have a 5.1 surround system and that was good enough for my needs. But there is one problem that has been bothering me for a while and that is the room’s frequency response. I don’t have a dedicated home theater room. The TV and surround sound is in my living room with a lot of open spaces. The floor, walls and ceiling are all very reflective surfaces. Which means the audio experience is not the greatest.
