    When I started my retirement, I was unaware of many things that will happen in the future. No one can anticipate what life throws at you.   • Digging Foundation For Pump House

    After several weeks of discussions and design changes later, we finally signed the contract for building a pump house. The contractor started making his arrangements for material and work and gave us a date for the work to start. We made our usual 4 hour drive to the farm and reached there by 11 am or so. We had to do some puja etc for starting the work. Never made any sense to me, but the local workers are expecting it. More importantly, the contractor was a very god fearing person and had a lot of beliefs. Anyway, that out of the way, we had to dig a little bit to get the work started. So I did my bit of ploughing.

  • Alternate Designs For Pump House

    While we finished our design for the pump house, I worked on several designs before handing over the final one to the contractor. I wanted to create some interesting designs and see which one we would like. I was putting so much time and effort on a building that was supposed to be temporary. But I enjoyed the work. It was fun and challenging at the same time. You probably want to skip this post if you don’t care about house designs. There is almost nothing to read except for a bunch of 3D renderings I created.

  • Budget 2025 And How It Affects Me

    Another year and another national budget session has concluded. Again, there isn’t much in the budget that affects me either in terms of investments or expenses. There is some good news for salaried folks and people with income or senior citizens. But for an early retiree with no other income other than my investments, there isn’t much. There is a slight good news and a slight bad news which I will get to in a minute. The budget is making the new tax regime more appealing and trying to move as many tax payers into the new tax regime. However, for me, the old tax regime is still the best option.
