Yes, it has been that long! While I became financially independent on December 31, 2017, I officially retired on June 29, 2018 and started writing this blog almost one month later on July 21, 2018. It was a long journey, for me at least, since I started and quit twice earlier (separate unrelated blogs). May be third time’s the charm? Since this post is mostly bragging about myself and how much I wrote, you can safely skip it. For the rest, you get to see some silly insights into the number of active users and how much I am earning with ads on the blog (got your attention now didn’t I?).

Before I go further, I wanted to give a quick update. I had a minor shoulder injury a few weeks ago during martial arts practice. Doctor advised me to take 2 weeks complete rest and a shoulder sling. Two weeks have passed and I am now on physiotherapy. As a result I could not write any posts in the past 3 weeks. I am getting better but not fully recovered. So I might be slow to post new articles for another 2-4 weeks.

I have written 335 posts in the last 4 years. Hopefully some of them were useful. As most of you probably already know, I don’t like to advertise my blog. I never give links to it to anyone unless specifically asked for it. I don’t use catchy or clickbait titles because I am not looking for traffic. I want people to find and share my blog if it has really helped them and not because Google found the keywords to be most attractive.

Currently there are 182 subscribers (including Google News followers). Not sure how many of them visit my blog. In the last 28 days, 398 users visited my blog. Of those 314 are new users who probably landed on my blog once due to some link from Google search or otherwise. So realistically I have 84 repeat visitors per month.

Coming to revenue, Google ads on my blog generated $0.90 last month. On average I “earn” about 1 USD per month. I say earn with quotes is because the money is not credited to my account. It just stays with Google until I have accumulated $100 and then Google supposedly will deposit in my bank. This has not happened yet, so lets wait and see.

I know many hate seeing ads on my blog and I receive emails from time to time about removing them. Sorry, but I will continue to run ads. The reason is not to make money. As I have always promised, any post-tax amount left after paying for my blog expenses will be completely donated. Please use ad-blocker if you don’t want to support my blog with ads. In the same vein, don’t click on any ads here if they are not relevant to you. It is not only illegal but unethical to do so.

That is all I really wanted to write. It is unbelievable that I have been writing for 4 years. Let us see how long I will continue. If you want to know any other stats or information about the blog, do let me know in the comments and I will add it to this post.
